Jess Love is the CEO of ViaNova, where she partners with foundations, corporations, families, and individuals to advance social change. With 25 years of experience as a nonprofit leader and social sector advisor, she brings deep expertise in translating philanthropic vision into lasting impact.
Over more than a decade at a leading philanthropic advisory firm, Jess guided the launch of dozens of collaboratives and grant-making initiatives—designing governance structures, developing grant-making processes, and aligning multiple stakeholders around shared strategy. Her work spans large-scale systemic efforts and hands-on partnership with individual donors and families, including helping to launch a major global effort to reduce methane emissions, scaling a bipartisan national justice reform campaign , and developing strategy for a national parent education initiative to advance student success.
As a strategic philanthropy advisor, Jess has helped individual philanthropists and families design and launch new foundations, supported established foundations in implementing capacity-building programs for grantees, and advised social-sector leaders on organizational strategy. As a social entrepreneur, she was the founding executive director of CounterPulse, where she led a 10-fold organizational expansion and established it as a national model in arts for social justice.
Jess has served on grant panels nationally and was named one of the nation’s top 50 arts CEOs by National Arts Strategies. She holds a BA in humanities from New College of California and a certificate in nonprofit leadership from Stanford GSB.
